About the formats
MP3
MP3 is the most widely supported audio format. Its quality is set by the bitrate, from 32 to 320 kbps: 32–64 kbps is enough for voice recordings, 128–192 kbps sounds good for most music, and 256–320 kbps is close to CD quality. A minute of stereo at 192 kbps is about 1.4 MB.
WAV
WAV is uncompressed audio: perfect quality but large files (about 10 MB per minute in stereo). It is used for editing, recording studios and some phone systems.
