About the formats
MP3
MP3 is the most widely supported audio format. Its quality is set by the bitrate, from 32 to 320 kbps: 32–64 kbps is enough for voice recordings, 128–192 kbps sounds good for most music, and 256–320 kbps is close to CD quality. A minute of stereo at 192 kbps is about 1.4 MB.
FLAC
FLAC is lossless compressed audio: the same quality as a CD at about half the size of WAV. Many phones and car stereos don't support it, so it is often converted to MP3.
